A few articles on our Traverse in the Drakensberg are coming out soon, but this is a snippet from our trip! Marine wasn't very happy with life when I filmed it.

A new discipline, a new adventure

The Kape Expedition, thus far have been incredible. They've taken me to tall peaks and I've worked and met some of the most inspiring and interesting people.

Though, 6 months is a long time and even though I'd love to get back planning the next one its not possible. I'm 21 and I feel that it would be a good idea to get stuck int some books. I'm studying law and Spanish right now and I'm really enjoying the change of scenery.

While, the books are out and about I've been getting into the mountains a lot. Marine and I did a big drakensberg missin where we trekked over 240km in an attempt to do the Drakensberg Grand Traverse. We didn't quite get to the end, because we got lost a lot and the weather was just mad, but it was a beautiful mission.

Right now I'm pretty stoked on running Ultra's, but that means I need to train hard- so thats wht I'm doing.

All good things have to come to an end

The Karoo Prdator Project which I joined in October last year is coming to an end. In the past months we've collared more than a dozen black-back jackal and caracal. The conflict which I knew little about has become a big part of my life and I'm so happy and thankful, especially to Marine Drouilly for let me join her on such an interesting and important project. She's done an amazing job!

We've still got a bunch of lab work and scat analysis to do so its not all over yet!

The Rains Brought New Life!

This time our regular trip up to farms around the Beaufort West area to do GPS clusters turned into something rather exciting. The rains brought some rather delightful creatures out into the open and we met a wonderful woman who rescued the sweetest baby Caracal after its mother was shot. We'll be taking "Jinx" to a sanctuary this coming Sunday! honestly, baby caracals are the cutest things ever!
